: Laura Dewey

Office Coordinator

Laura Dewey, a recent graduate of Simmons College in Boston, was born and raised in Vermont’s Mad River Valley. At Simmons College she studied history, with a specialization in women’s studies and gender relations. While living in Boston she worked with Jump Start, a nonprofit program specializing in the individualized mentoring and tutoring of low-income pre-school age children. Working with Jumpstart inspired Laura to pursue a career working with women, children, and families. She hopes to continue to gain experience, and pursue a Master’s Degree in clinical psychology. She began working at True North Wilderness Program in the fall of 2010, and is excited to expand her awareness and understanding while working with the families of adolescents.

Laura is a newlywed, married to a National Guard member who has recently returned from Afghanistan. She enjoys playing rugby and basketball, drinking tea, and is happy to spend every day treasuring the beauty of Vermont.
