: Caretia Fernandez, MSW

Parent Program Coordinator

Caretia Fernandez is a Master's level clinical social worker. Originally from the East Coast, she now lives in Portland, Oregon. Her experience working with adolescents and their families stems back to the beginning of her career as a therapist where she worked at a therapeutic boarding school in Massachusetts as a counselor and supervisor. Her passion for working with youth inspired her to return for a graduate degree from Smith College School for Social Work in Northampton, MA. She has worked with a diverse population of people through her career, she has experience with acute residential facilities, individual therapy, college counseling, family coaching as well as interventions. She has specialized in working with young adults and has done research in deliberate self-injury and non-verbal learning disorder. Caretia is trained psycho-dynamically as well as in internal family systems therapy, and is also a certified interventionist. In addition to being a therapist, Caretia is an avid runner, yogi, musician, gardener, outdoor enthusiast and world traveler.
